To support the customs brokerage manager in the smooth running of the department within the branch (ie) the customs product in the marketplace through focus on Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture. To stay in adherence to the company's policy, procedures and business code of conduct.
+ Allocate workloads within team to ensure smooth operations during peak activity or staff absence.
+ Monitor compliance at all times to regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer policies/requirements.
+ Monitor duty deferment usage and levels.
+ Promote productivity tools (e.g., using edoc, customs database, process management, customs system, PSM, Customer Profiles, Vector).
+ Ensure all new business is transitioned correctly.
+ Audit of files in accordance to AEO
+ Maintain a positive relationship with the Brokerage Manager, Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.
+ Promote productivity tools (e.g., using edoc, process management, Expo customs).
+ Follow up refunds with Customs authorities.
+ Send client report requests through the available database (expo request, expo reporting).
+ Provide content for Customer reviews - Duty / VAT outlays and challenges.
+ Participate in conducting staff appraisals, at a minimum of once per year per employee.
+ 5 to 7 years of experience in Customs Brokerage operations
+ In-depth knowledge of global logistics and trade compliance regulations
+ Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
+ Excellent active listening and communication skills
+ Proven ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching
+ Demonstrated teamwork and cross-functional collaboration abilities
+ Customer-focused mindset with a service excellence approach
+ Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MS Excel, Word, and industry-specific systems such as CHAMP, SAP, or internal brokerage tools)
+ English language fluency (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of transactional work with accuracy
+ Ability to lead, mentor, and support a team in a fast-paced environment
