Garment Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

All brands strategy, product development and innovation are led and driven by certain PVH affiliates in the US with respect to products under the Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger sold in NA, Asia and SA; and in the Netherlands with respect to products bearing the Tommy Hilfiger Europe, Calvin Klein Europe with respect and sold in the Asia region. The position in this job description helps the above mentioned PVH related parties meet their operating and strategic needs.

➢ Own technical development of allocated styles, collaborating with technical teams and Hub cross functional partners. Ensure consistency of fit across all collections.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Create and maintain detailed tech packs, including flat sketches, measurement specifications, and construction details for denim products.

• Conduct thorough fit sessions and collaborate with the design/tech design team if necessary to achieve the desired fit and aesthetic, making necessary adjustments to patterns and communicating changes to suppliers.

• Develop and modify patterns for denim garments, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to design specifications.

• Evaluate and approve pre-production and production samples, providing constructive feedback to ensure garments meet design and quality standards.

• Work closely with Hub sourcing and vendor to manage sample T&A.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, production, and quality control, to address technical challenges and facilitate the smooth transition from design to production.

• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to communicate technical requirements, resolve issues, and ensure the timely and accurate production of denim products.

• Implement and maintain quality control standards, conducting regular inspections to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship in denim garments.

• Compile, analyze and document clear directional fitting comments in Centric.

Job Description

• Ability to analyze and evaluate garment construction and quality to identify possible risk and testing required.

• Responsible for upholding design intent across multi bases sizes from 1st Fit though to PP Approval.

• Work closely with Hub sourcing and vendor to manage sample T&A.

• Follow and uphold SOP set in place internally and external within the company. For example, making sure vendors have clear understanding of our brands development/fit process.

• Support vendor accreditation training for PP and Fit Approval.

• Build relationships with our vendor and cross functional partners.

• Participate and initiate communication with cross functional teams sharing knowledge, aiding to better alignment.

• To participate in projects to create and define new SOP and best practices.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS

Internal Contacts: Supply/PD, Merchandising Team, RM team, and Design / Technical Design team External Contacts: Vendors DECISION MAKING

• Responsible for solving and justify any discrepancy on pattern/grading/YY that might encountered by the vendors.

• Able to make decision on bringing/ altering new benefits which should be beneficial for the brand and company.

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY

• Build up libraries/paper pattern matching records to improve the group process to cope with the increasing / heavy workload.

• Provide guidance to hubs and vendors to ensure our workflow can run seamlessly.

• To utilize computer knowledge making effective way to perform variety of tasks in system

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience: • Diploma or above in Technical Design, Pattern Grading or equivalent.

• Minimum 3 years or above relevant experience. 5-6 years of experience in technical design, with a focus on denim.

• Proficiency in pattern making software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra) and Adobe Creative Suite/illustrator

• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and sewing techniques, particularly in the denim category.

• Knowledge of sustainable practices in denim manufacturing is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of PLM, 2D, and 3D software is a plus.

Skills:

• Solid knowledge of fitting, pattern making, grading, construction experience

• Solid knowledge in Gerber system and Lectra system.

• Knowledge of PLM systems, and Graphics Software Adobe Illustrator preferable

• Organized and detailed oriented, takes immediate action to resolve issues and problems.

• Excellent communication skills and good interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

• Knowledge of garment fit and ability to instruct a vendor on the garment manufacturability.

• Strong Ms Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).

• Fluency in English.
